Music in Our Worship

At Trinity, we strive to make our music…

… enhance the themes and messages of the liturgy;
… use diverse musical styles, allowing worshipers of all ages and backgrounds to share their gifts;
… honor our God and help us experience the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The ways we include music and the arts to meet the goals of our worship include Trinity Church Choir, Choir Light, Praise Team, Bell Choir, and other arts, including occasional instrumental ensemble, dance, dramas, and dramatic readings.

About Our Organ

Trinity voted at the end of 2021 to purchase a new digital organ console to replace the 90-year-old pipe organ console which has been repaired several times.

The last console upgrade reused many old parts of the original console which have again failed and can no longer be obtained because the pipe organ company went out of business many years ago. The old console has only functioned at 50 percent for the last six years.

The wind-blown pipes and chests were also cleaned and repaired 20+ years ago and have also developed leaks and problems which would require at least $100,000 to fully repair.

The new digital organ from Allen Organ Company in Macungie, PA provides the following benefits to our congregation:

  • Six pipe organs in one instrument, plus orchestral and contemporary sounds will provide a complete instrument with more tonal resources for worship.

  • The new digital organ requires no tuning or maintenance.

  • There are no minimum temperature or humidity requirements with a digital organ. This may lower utility costs for our congregation.

  • The console and all assemblies are built locally by Allen Organ Company, an American company, and the largest builder of church organs worldwide.

  • Our new console is prepared to interface with our existing pipes if the desire and funding becomes available. In the meantime, we have time to explore what is best for our congregation musically and financially.

  • The new organ will look and sound like the finest wind-blown pipe organ.
